The sheer breadth of choice allows you to create a unique design for your home that reflects more of your personal style. And as you are upcycling old furniture rather than just throwing it away’, the environmental benefits are amazing.

According to CEO and founder Lesley, the spark for the company came after she bought a summer house near the coast in her native Sweden. Considering how many people in the world own at least one piece of IKEA furniture, that original spark is likely to fire this business to tremendous success.

Lesley Pennington had a successful career at Apple in Silicon Valley when she decided to move to Sweden. That’s where she decided to start the e-commerce company Bemz in 2005.
Over a decade ago, Canadian native Lesley Pennington upped sticks in favour of a house by the water in stunning Sweden, and in that house she bought herself a standard IKEA sofa.
