About Us
Liisa is the founder and CEO of Ignitia. When she first started Ignitia, she had one goal in mind – to develop a forecasting model that also worked in the tropics. Under the motto, “While the difficult takes time, the impossible just takes a bit longer,” she and her team conducted research for a number of years before a finally launching a commercial product for Ignitia. Liisa’s educational background includes Master degrees in both Physics and Meteorology. After university, she served as a visiting scientist at University of Washington for a few years. Currently, Liisa works on commercial strategy, partnership development, and managing the Ignitia team across 6 countries.

Stockholm-founded startup Ignitia, which claims to be the world’s first hyper-local tropical weather forecaster, has landed $1.1 million in funding at a valuation of $11 million. The Silicon Valley-based investment firm Hack VC led the round, with participation from FINCA Ventures and the Norrsken Foundation.
